Wacky weekend wrapup

Hello everyone! It is I, Ernie, to tell you about our weird weekend. The weather was nice, but it was a bit cool. Mommy had some of the windows open anyway to "get some fresh air in here". I can't understand why she always looks right at us pugs whenever she says that. Eli and I hung out and watched Mommy trying to clean up. She said we distracted her from getting much done. I don't understand what she means by that either...
Gus just hung out being Gus...
Eddie played while Pippin kept an eye on him. Mommy has been calling Pippin the "Pugfather" because he thinks he's in charge here...
Daddy and Sam went out to the store on Saturday to get some more propane for the grill. Since the weather was so nice, Mommy wanted to grill some chicken for dinner. While they were gone, Mommy was at the computer and we were just hanging out around her when there was this strange hissing sound that lasted about a second followed by a very loud BOOM! All of us, including Mommy, jumped out of our seats. Mommy ran to the back window and looked out, expecting to see one of the houses behind us in flames, but everything looked normal. Then she saw the next door neighbor looking torwards the transformer which is just a few yards away from us (it's to the left of that green tree up on the pole)...
Mommy said that it was probably a squirrel that got into the transformer and got fried. She said that has happened before and it happens a lot at Grandma and Grandpa's house too. Stupid squirrels. But then, when Daddy got home, he was talking to the neighbor who said it was a cat. It actually blew up and part went into one neighbor's yard and part went into the other neighbor's yard. We're not sure where this cat came from because everyone around us has dogs. We're sorry for the kitty, but glad it wasn't a dog. And Mommy was glad that our power never went out. The neighbor's power went out briefly then came back on. And the electric company guy was here within about 10 minutes after it happened. All he had to do was flip a switch. Here's a closeup view of the transformer. Mommy thinks that's blood on it...gruesome...
Here's our next door neighbor buddy, Baron. He's keeping watch for any other kitties that may think about climbing up there so he can warn them. He's also keeping watch for squirrels so he can encourage them to go up there ;-)
This is the dog 2 doors down. We're not sure of his name. He appears to be bowing his head in silence for the fallen kitty...
Wow, that really wore us out. Time to get a little rest...
But then we were attacked by aliens!!!
Oh wait, that's just Eddie...
Gus was still being Gus...
Pippin was still being the pug in charge, making offers we couldn't refuse...
Then Mommy and Daddy took Gus and Bernice and went to Petco. They just took them and left us with Sam. They said they were working for KPR, but I've been there and it's really not work. Lots of people pay attention to us pugs when we go and we always get new treats. Here's Daddy posing with Bernice...Does that look like work to you?
Here's Mommy with Gus. You'd think those pug faces would have helped them get lots of donations, but Mommy said that not many people were in the store. The weather was too nice and people were out enjoying it.
Check out Mommy's flowers that are blooming. She calls the yellow ones Daffodils and the purple ones Crocuses. The crocuses have been blooming for about a week or so, so they're looking a little weak now. Now the daffodils are starting to bloom, then in a couple of weeks the tulips will bloom. Mommy is getting very excited to plant other stuff, like her herb garden. She loves growing fresh herbs and using them in her cooking.
More crocuses...
My beautiful Jasmine enjoys when the weather is nice and dry. She doesn't like the rain because her sweet paws are much too delicate...
Bernice and Eli sure enjoy exploring in the back yard. Look at how green the grass is beneath them! I believe that spring is finally arriving!
Ah, here I am breathing in the fresh air and clearing my mind...ohmmmmm...
"Someday, and that day may never come, I'll call upon you to do a service for me. But, until that day, accept this justice as a gift on my daughter's wedding day."...
Sorry we've been neglecting the blog lately. Mommy just hasn't wanted to help us type and we have a really hard time typing with our paws. It never makes any sense when we type. We will try to get after her to make her type for us more often.
Have a great week everyone!
Pug hugs and kisses!

Wow, how scary. It's too bad that it was a kitty. I have 3 kitty siblings. How sad. My Mommy said that your Mommy's picture with the blood was a little much, since she was in the middle of eating her breakfast when she saw it. Haha. I have been having fun outside too. My Mommy isn't very good about getting pictures. The flowers are very pretty. Glad to see you're back to blogging.

ohhh the blood on the transformer broke my heart and made me gag a little! Poor kitty! :(

Ernie, you do a great job of reporting for the Posse! Isn't Spring wonderful?! I can't wait to hear about all the fun you'll have as the weather starts to warm up!
