Christmas Meme

Just a few pictures before getting into the meme. I put up the Christmas tree last night. It's a really simple pre-lit tree. The hardest part is spreading the branches out because I usually get scratches all over my arms. Well, last night there were 2 circuits that were out. Whoever came up with this lame-brain circuit idea is evil! I discovered that if a light is burned out, the whole circuit goes out. But if you take the bad bulb out thus leaving an empty socket, the circuit is fine. So I had to take out each bulb until I found the bad one! Jasmine's face here looks like I felt! (I really just caught her mid-yawn, but it looks like she's screaming or something!) Once the tree was up and decorated, I tried to get the pugs to sit in front of the tree for a picture. Jasmine wouldn't have anything to do with that! I am posting the series of pictures that were taken so you can see the problems I had. The last 2 are the best ones I could get. The only cooperative pugs were Ernie and Pippin...
Ok, I'm finally doing this after reading several by other bloggers...

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper...gift bags are too easy for someone to sneak in to!
2. Real tree or Artificial? Real while I was growing up, but Denny and I have had artificial since we've been married. Artificial and pre-lit...
3. When do you put up the tree? I always try to get the tree up on the day after Thanksgiving, but I was a little bit late with it this year, I just got it put up yesterday.
4. Wreath on your door? Not yet, but I do have one that usually goes there.
5. Do you like eggnog? Ewww, gross! Denny loves it though.
6. Favorite Christmas gift received as a child? The Millenium Falcon
7. Easiest person to buy for? Denny
8. Least easiest? My dad. If he wants something, he buys it for himself. Once my mom bought him a briefcase for his birthday and had it monogrammed because he had admired it when they were shopping. After she bought it, he went out and bought it for himself AND had it monogrammed. My mom said she was never going to buy him anything again and it was a good thing his son has the same initials!
9. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, nothing special, just one we bought at Target, but it looks nice.
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail, although we didn't send any last year...we didn't feel much in the Christmas spirit after Denny's mom died right before Thanksgiving...
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Can't remember a worst CHRISTMAS present, but the worst present ever was the used coffee maker Denny's step-grandmother gave us as a wedding gift. It had the yard sale sticker on it (I think she may have paid as much as $5 for it) and it was NOT clean...
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? It's A Wonderful Life for a serious movie and Christmas Vacation for funny...
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Ugh...not soon enough...
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No, but I have given things I've gotten to Good Will with the tags still on them...
15. Open presents on Christmas eve or morning? Has to be morning...you can't open presents until Santa has dropped them off!
16. Lights on the tree? Pre-lit...see the beginning of this post for my issues there...different colored lights, but not blinking!
17. Favourite Christmas song? O Holy Night, Carol of the Bells, Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas Canon (Pachelbel's Canon was the processional music in our wedding, so hearing the tune makes me smile).
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Christmas Eve used to always be at my parents' house, but my sister has hosted it the past few years. Christmas Day is home!
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, Rudolph, Pippin, Ernie...oh, sorry, I got carried away there...
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Growing up we had a star, Denny and I have an angel...something comforting about having an angel looking down on you...
21. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Mmmmm...the pierogis (my family is Polish) for Christmas Eve and the Roast Beast and Yorkshire Pudding for Christmas Day dinner!
22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Shopping...I worked retail a long time ago and when I finally got out of it I vowed never to set foot in a mall on Black Friday ever again! I did go to Target this year on Black Friday, but it's not quite the same as a mall...
23. Favorite Tree ornament, theme or color? Several themes...pugs, of course, the Colts (we even have a Hallmark Peyton Manning figure!), penguins, and Hilton Head Island (includes dolphins and lighthouses).
24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Roast Beast with Yorkshire Pudding and garlic mashed potatoes...mmmmmm...
25. Brussels Sprouts - love or hate them? Same response as the eggnog question, except Denny doesn't even like them...
26. Favorite accompaniment to the Christmas Pud? If you can count the Yorkshire Pudding as Christmas Pud, then roast beef, but we don't have a dessert pud...
27. Favorite Christmas Carol? I think probably Hark, the Herald Angels Sing because it reminds me of the Charlie Brown Christmas special...
28. Your very Favorite Christmas Thing? Our traditional Polish Christmas Eve dinner.
29. A Christmas wish! I wish that all the homeless pugs out there could find the happiness that Eli has found in the past few months. I love seeing how happy he is now. He is a completely different pug than the skinny, scared, skittish little thing we adopted. Every pug should have a loving home where he/she feels safe and loved. And I wish that people were more like pugs...
30. Tag a Seasonal Six! Anyone who hasn't already done this, consider yourself tagged...
Pug hugs and kisses!

Vikki, thanks so much for sharing that meme with us! I loved reading it!

This year I got my pre-lit tree all decorated and perfect, and a day later- the middle string of lights went out! I changed bulbs and fuses with no success. I had to un-decorate the tree, go buy a new one, and start all over! What a mess! I understand your frustration!

I loved your last answer- I'm so happy Eli is home. :)

I definitely agree with you on the wish for homeless pugs. Mom is really enjoying all the fun answers on this meme. Thanks.
