Pugless Sunday at the Pumpkin Patch

Hi everyone!!! We had a pugless adventure today. We met Yoda and Brutus' parents, Cindy and Mike at a place on the east side of Indy called Edward's Drive-in. Adam Richman from Man vs. Food went there when he was in town. They are famous for their pork tenderloin sandwich. Then Lilo's mama Jessica joined us. We had a nice but very filling lunch!

The pugs would have loved helping us eat all that food! After lunch we drove a short distance to Waterman's Farm to pick our own pumpkins! Don't the boys look excited?
It was like a mini fair with a petting zoo, small rides for the kids, and food!
This was one of the food vendors. I loved their logo :-D
We got some cider slushies and went to check out the pumpkin eating dinosaur, Tyrrany, while we waited for Apollo's parents, Jami and Sean, to meet us.
Cindy looks really scared! LOL :-D
I love the look on Jess' face!!!
Not sure what's up with the look on Sam's face...
Raaaawwwwwrrrr!
Once Jami and Sean got there, we took a stroll through the cornfield maze.
Then we went for the hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick our own pumpkins!
Smile, Jami :-)
Sam was determined to find the biggest pumpkin he could carry (I told him he could have whatever he picked as long as he carried it himself).
Cindy and Mike were having a little too much fun!
Sam was still looking for the biggest pumpkin he could find...
Sean and Jami picked a mama and baby pumpkin!
The Smith family :-)
Cindy and Mike...
Jess and me...
The girls...
And the boys...
Jess was checking out the dinosaur from the other side.
But Sam insisted that he wanted to ride this thing...
Fortunately there was no puking involved!
Overall it was a really fun day and the weather was awesome! I love my friends!!!

Pugtoberfest 2010

Hello everyone!!! I have so much blog catching up to do, but I wanted to get these pictures posted. Last Saturday was Kentuckiana Pug Rescue's final event of the year, Pugtoberfest! It was held in Sheperdsville, KY (just south of Louisville). It was a very busy day and we only took 5 pugs with us. I didn't get pictures of everything because I was working most of the day (first at the pug bakery table, then at the front entrance table), but I did make sure to get pictures of the costume contest competitors!

Here's Bella making her big KPR debut! She was helping set up the Pugs in the Kitchen table! And here is our awesome sign (idea by me, drawing by Yoda & Brutus' mom):
This is Peyton. He is baby Stewie's big brother and a KPR rescue! (Stewie is one of Sassy's puppies, for those of you who got to watch the Puppy Cam...also Kiki's brother!)
Here is Denny manning the Puggo (Pug Bingo) table. It was only the 2nd time KPR has had Puggo at an event, but it seems to be quite popular! And Denny is pretty good at leading the game :-)
Here are Apollo's parents at the Pugs in the Kitchen table. Notice Romeo, Eli, and Apollo peaking out from under the table!
Romeo was doing his best to get people to buy treats!
Gus decided he had already had enough by about 10 am, so he took a snooze. He knew he was going to be in the longest tongue contest, so he knew he needed to rest up :-) No pictures of the contest, but Gus came in first place! That's my Gus Gus!
Sam was assigned to the Contest Registration table.
Look at this poor baby that needs a home. Somebody please adopt him!
More sweet babies that need forever homes :-(
Here is Annie of The Pug Circus with one of her circus elephants! She dressed up her 3 smallest pugs, Polly Pocket and Eli's brothers Kirby and Colby, as elephants! Too funny :-D
The elephants are ready to roll...
Here is Captain Jack Peyton! BOL!
Peyton's BT sister Hazel dressed as a bat!
Peyton's other sister Hazel got a little stage fright and didn't want to strut her witch stuff, but the laser eyes were a good effect!
And Peyton's newest sibling, baby Stewie!
This was an awesome costume! The black pug was a black dragon! If you look closely, you can see a little rider on the dragon's back!
Yeah, very funny...
A mummy pug :-D
This Mad Hatter wasn't late for this important date!
Here is Apollo and his mama as a convict and a cop!
Apollo has such an awesome underbite :-)
Gus was sympathizing with Apollo since he was a convict last year!
This was the first part of the Wizard of Oz group entry. Amy, KPR's president, entered her, her moms and her brother's pugs and buggs. Amy's mom made the costumes and they were incredible! The first 3 were Glinda the good witch, the Scarecrow, and Dorothy.
Then came the Wicked Witch and the flying monkeys. The buggs were perfect as the flying monkeys!!!
A couple of real jokers :-D
This is Penelope and Petunia! They were rescued by KPR with really bad mange. It was so bad that neither one had much hair at all. They were adopted last summer and are absolutely beautiful!!!
Time for the pugaphants to strut their stuff!
And now get your money out...here come the Chippendale pugs!!!
Gus was a bit embarassed by the thongs on the pugs!
There really are no words...not appropriate ones anyway!
What an exhausting day! Gus and Romeo were all tuckered out!
I hope you enjoyed the pictures! We had a good time and hopefully helped out a lot of pugs!
Pug hugs and kisses!
