My beautiful Jasmine couldn't contain her excitement...
Our good friend Lilo was there with her parents and she had some very good news...she now has a blog of her own! Check it out here. Lilo entered the costume contest as a retired Hooters girl!
This pug had matching legwarmers that she wore in the costume contest...
Everyone was excited for the day!
This is the FORMER kissing champ, Rocco. I'll let you know further down who finally dethroned the champ...
The first contest of the day was the Best Shedder contest. Mommy entered Pippin in this one. He didn't mind at all...he got a good scratching during the event!
And who do you think won? Why, our Pippin of course! Check out the pile of hair that was produced from the rubdown...
Gus was very happy to be there as part of the Pug Posse!
Our good friend Pugsley entered the Pug Race for 1-4 year old pugs. His human brother got him started and he ran to victory!
The next group to race was my group, 5 years and older. I really wasn't sure what was happening because Mommy entered me at the last minute and forgot to tell me about it. Daddy got me started and I walked, yes, that's right, WALKED, to victory! Ok, it was a brisk walk, but I made it to Mommy before any of the other pugs made it to the finish line! A lot of the pugs seemed to be confused and walked in other directions.
Here is a brindle pug. I believe someone said that he is a cross between a pug and a bulldog, but he kind of looked like a tiger!
Here is Lilo again showing off her gorgeous costume...
The pugs and bugg made their return as the Three Amigos! Here they are posing with their Mommy, Kelly...
Pugsley entered the costume contest as a lion. It was a very cool costume, but I'm not sure he enjoyed wearing it...the hood seemed to keep falling over his face. Here he is with his Mommy, Heather...
Here is the Hooters girl, the lion, and the Three Amigos...
It's a lion with no face ;-)
Sweet Dixie-Bugg smiling for the paparazzi...
Here is Bernice snuggling up with Lilo's Daddy, Ryan...
This trio of pugs entered the group costume contest as "Chinese New Year"...
This group tied with the Three Amigos for 1st place. They were a pirate and a mermaid, complete with pirate ship and 2 human pirate siblings...
Here are the Three Amigos hearing the results...
Lilo and her Mommy, Jessica...
Bernice was exhausted and we hadn't even gotten to the Best Kisser contest yet!
Salinger's Mommy, Laura, couldn't get enough of Pippin. Pippin even helped her sell raffle tickets!
All right...here's the moment you've all been waiting for...the Best Kisser contest! And the new champion is...ELI!!! All his practicing has paid off! There was some funny business across the way from Mommy and Eli...Salinger entered the contest with Pugsley's Mommy and Pugsley entered with Salinger's Mommy. Apparently Salinger's Mommy and Pugsley "brought the contest to a whole new level" according to one of the judges. Daddy didn't get any pictures since he was focused on Mommy and Eli.
Mommy finally gave us some more water. We were getting quite parched!
Dixie and Sophie were not very happy that Gus had a rawhide treat and they did not!
A little peace and quiet...and rawhides!
We met this pug named Pudge. He had a tongue like Gus's!
Peyton even made an appearance! He made the paper when he was found as a very young puppy with 4 siblings and their mother on a school football field. Their mother was dead so the puppies had to be hand raised. Unfortunately Peyton was the only one that survived. But he was adopted by some nice people and here he is, happy and healthy!
Ahhhh...happiness...pug lovin' all around!Salinger was not amused when the water was spilled!
Salinger's Mommy, Aunt Laura, sat down on the floor to eat an apple. She ended up sharing a bit of it with the puggies!
It isn't TOO obvious that Dixie is a Daddy's girl, is it?
Dixie had to personally try out one of the raffle items...
More pug snuggling...
These 2 were the winners of the pug-owner lookalike contest. Personally, I thought Dixie and her Daddy should have entered...
Poor Eddie had to spend the day in the adoptable pugs pen. But he got to meet some new pugs and lots of people gave him love...
Eli was so tired that he fell asleep nuzzled between Mommy and Daddy's arms...
All in all it was a wonderful, fun-filled day. We spent time with good friends and competed in friendly competitions and helped the pugs. We really wanted to post the pictures yesterday, but Mommy and Daddy were too busy "Spring Cleaning". I don't understand why they don't want the house to smell like pugs. And why did Mommy have to use that evil vacuum to suck up all of our beautiful hair that we so carefully placed on the carpet? Humans!
I need to make a couple of shout-outs before sign off. Please go over to Pugsley's blog and wish him and his family condolences on the loss of his rat brother, Templeton. It appears that Pugsley was quite fond of this little creature.
Please also visit Dixie, Sophie, and Harley's blog and wish their Daddy, Brian, a Happy Birthday!
Whew! That was a long blog. I hope I didn't bore anyone too much. There was so much going on at the pug event and so many pictures! I hope all of you have a wonderful week!
Pug hugs and kisses!

SUCH great pics guys! You did a great job capturing the spirit of the whole long, exhausting day!!!
Congrats on all of your wins...especially the kissing contest. Mom says your mom must have really gotten a faceful to beat her and Pugsley!!!!!
Mom has gone fetal again and keeps mumbling about taking another shower. I think she's traumatized! HAHAHAHA!
Love,
S-Dog
My Mommy keeps vacuuming up my hair too! I'm so jealous of all the fun you guys had at March in the Pugs. I really wanted to go, but Mommy said moving was more important. But at least I got to enjoy the pictures you all took.
