Dolphin Friday

Hello everyone! Mommy is taking over again today...

One of our favorite places is Hilton Head Island, SC. My family has been going there for a long time. Denny's first time there was for our honeymoon. On that trip we discovered the dolphin trip. They take you out into the ocean on a Zodiak, which is basically a rubber raft with a propeller on the back. There are about 60 Atlantic Bottle-nosed Dolphins (ie. Flipper) that live in the sound between the island and the mainland and many more "visit". When we went on our honeymoon, the laws weren't as strict and the "tour guides" would get the dolphins to swim right up to the boat and you could even touch them. We were sure that they would go out there without tours and feed the dolphins to get them to swim to the boats, even though they said it was against the law to feed them. But the dolphins were way too friendly to just swim up to the boats without incentive. The laws have become much more strict and there is no feeding or touching of the wildlife. It's a little more difficult to find the dolphins, but they can be found...usually around the shrimp boats to feed on the discards. In 2007 we took Sam to Hilton Head for his first time and here are some of the dolphins we saw. Keep in mind it's not easy to take pictures of dolphins in the wild since you never know when they're going to pop up, but I think I got some good shots. The first picture is of Harbour Town as seen from the ocean. There is a big golf tournament there every spring and a lot of wealthy people park their yachts in the harbour...
I hope you enjoyed the dolphins! In pug news, Eddie went to the vet to get fixed today and he did very well. I was worried he would be upset with me, but he's more sleepy than anything. Hopefully we can keep him and the rest of the posse calm for the next few days so he can heal!
Pug hugs and kisses!

Snow Day!

All right, we know this is a day late, but better late than never! Mommy came home from work on Tuesday and this is what was happening... It was kind of fun to run around in when there wasn't too much of that cold white stuff on the ground...
Wheeeee...
Then Mommy and Daddy's alarm went off yesterday morning (at the usual time of 5:30) and Eddie said he had to go outside. So Mommy went to let us out and this is what we saw!
A little bit of snow is ok, but this is belly-chilling stuff! Pugs are NOT snow dogs!
School was cancelled and Mommy and Daddy's cars were kind of buried, so everyone stayed home with us! Hooray!
Just look how much it was snowing...
I don't think St. Francis liked it too much either!
Daddy measured the snow while Sam was trying to shovel the driveway. It was still snowing pretty hard at this point. We got a total of about 12 inches!
Nope, still not going anywhere...
Mommy thought the table out back looked like a bundt cake...
It's just no fun when the snow is a deep as a pug is tall!
We did what we had to do and hurried up inside...
Since my nickname is Moose, I thought I could get through the snow to see why the dog in the yard behind us was barking so much...
So I was wrong...that stuff is cold!
It stopped snowing around noon, but Mommy and Daddy still weren't going anywhere!
Ahhhh...nice and warm by the heater...
And on the couch by Mommy...
I, of course, kept watch...
Pippin was dreaming about Sophie...
Sorry about being a day late with our snow day post. Mommy spent most of her time on the computer doing work...can you believe she had a snow day and still did work? The woman is insane! And Daddy got on the computer whenever Mommy took a break to go on CrackBook. They really need to just get away from the computer and spend more time snuggling with us!
Eddie gets to go to the vet tomorrow to be "fixed". Keep him in your thoughts tomorrow...I'm sure he'll be fine, but Mommy still worries about things like that...
Last but not least, we'd like to send our condolences to Clover and her family...her cousin Ed passed away and they are very sad. We are sending them lots of pug hugs!
Pug hugs and kisses!

Working with the Snuggle Puggle

Hello everyone!!! We have a little video to show you today! It's us working so hard at playing! Eddie was really working hard!
video

We played so hard that we got a little sleepy, but that only helped us do our snuggling job! Here's Eli getting ready... Pippin is a snuggling pro!
Eddie is still learning...he has the soft spot, but he's snuggling with non-snuggly things...
Snuggling with Daddy's feet is much better...
And he's down for the count...
Bernice sure looks sweet and innocent when she's snuggling...
I, the Moose, always look sweet and innocent and I am a very good snuggler! Just ask my Mommy!
Yes, Pippin is definitely a pro...
Eli really knows how to snuggle too!
And, last but far from least, our beautiful Jasmine...
Pug hugs and kisses!
